About Me
For some reason, you have an interest in me. That's why you're here, isn't it?
There's not a whole lot to say, but I'll do my best to fill the page. My name is Gray McPherson, I'm 19, and a student at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where I study microelectronic engineering. I graduated Robert E. Lee High School in June 2006 as valedictorian. You might come to the conclusion that I take academics pretty seriously, which is more or less true. Actually, it's horrifically true.
For 3 years in high school, I ran. Specifically, 5Ks in Cross Country, the 1000m run in Indoor Track, and the 800m run in Outdoor Track (I also moved in and out of the 4x200, 4x400, and 4x800 relays). Why only three years? Funny story... I've always been plagued by injuries and asthma, but finally, in my senior year, I was diagnosed with a heart disease that prevented me from competitively running. I try to run casually, however difficult it may be. I'm always known as the defective one, and explaining all of my defects typically ellicits nervous chuckling. Seriously, it's not serious (see what I did there?). I'll still live to be at least 34.
Somewhat ironically, I've recently become active in emergency medical services. I've started volunteering at local agencies and will hopefully be obtaining my EMT certification by the end of 2007. I really don't have a good reason as to why I became involved in EMS, but the usual suspects such as helping people and serving my community apply.
I'm really into gadgets. Seriously, I think I have a problem. I love having the latest things on the tech scene, and love researching stuff that's coming next. I invest a lot in computers and related technologies, I have a collection of SEGA consoles as well as a few Nintendo machines, and I am big into high definition video, though I still only have a standard definition video camera. I also consider myself an amateur audiophile and a helpless videophile.
I spend a lot of time watching TV. I love intelligent, well written shows such as The X-Files, Millennium, The West Wing, and House. I also enjoy comedies such as 30 Rock and The Office, and ritualistically watch late night shows, namely Saturday Night Live, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, and Late Nite with Conan O'Brien. Do I watch too much TV? Perhaps. I also consider myself a movie buff, with my favorite film being Memento, folled by others such as Being John Malkovich, V for Vendetta, The Matrix, The Naked Gun, Austin Powers, and countless others.
Okay... are you bored to tears yet? I hope not, because this is the internet and you can easily go elsewhere.
