About Me

Greetings!

As you may have figured out by now, my name is Gray McPherson. I am 22 years of age. I was born and raised in Staunton, Virginia -- a town of about 24,000 people. I am now attending school at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY -- a metro area of about 1.5 million people. I have also worked two stints at Intel Corporation in Hudson, MA -- a metro area (Boston) of about 4.5 million people. In the past few years I have really expanded my horizons.

I am studying microelectronic engineering, which is a highly specialized subset of electrical engineering. The focus is on the design and manufacture of modern integrated circuits (your computer chips and whatnot). It is a fascinating field that requires a lot of hard work and dedication. I have been fortunate to have two co-ops at Intel corporation, putting my education hard at work. My first tour of duty was as a lithography layer engineer, my second as a yield engineer.

Aside from academics, I volunteer as an emergency medical technician in the state of New York. I work with my school agency and town agency. I became a certified EMT in 2008 and have put way too much time into utilizing it. I find it a very rewarding service to provide my community.

Other than that, my hobbies tend to be centered around hockey. I am a rabid fan of the Washington Capitals and RIT Tigers. I also have passion for wine and whisk(e)y.

I hope you enjoy the site. Please comment on my posts!
